CHARGE OF MURDER.
TOWNSEND AGAIN REMANDED.
New Plymouth, Tuesday. A further remand was granted when Alexander Townsend appeared in the New Plymouth Police Court to-ilay charged with the murder of his wife, Cora Alice Townsend, at Fitzroy, New Plymouth, on September 16. On the application of the police a remand until October 15 was granted. It was intimated that the police would then be prepared to go on with the hearing. Although accused was called at 10 a.m., half an hour earlier than the usual time, there was a crowd of spectators present in the Court.
