TO RESUSCITATE THE BAND
Some lime ago the public of Foxton raised a large sum of money which was expended in procuring instruments and uniforms for the band. Big tilings were promised,‘hut for some reason or another the band members were not a happy family, and the hand became mo i' ibu ii cl.
At 'Sunday night’s concert the Mayor said it ball been suggestde to him that the instruments and uniforms might be used in the formation of a hoys’ band. Air Caplo, a former inmate of the Blind Institute and a talented musician, now resident in Foxton,, was prepared to instruct those willing to act on the suggestion. In conversation yesterday with our representative, Air On pie informed us that he would he only too pleased to give his services in this connection. Mr (tuple is an experienced bandsman, being both a euphonium and trombone player. It is hoped that a meeting will be called of all interested for the purpose of putting the suggestion into practice.
