FOXTON RACING CLUB
ANNUAL REPORT. The animal meeting of the Foxtoii Racing Club will be held on Wednesday, August • oth. The 'animal report of the president (Mr. W. E. Barber) states that a, review of the Club’s financial year which ended on June 30th discloses the position of the Club lo be very satisfactory. Owing to adverse weather conditions prior to the meeting receipts show a decrease o*i the previous year, owing, partially, to a falling off in attendance and as an indication of the attendance expected he would refer members to the amount received for tenders. The amount paid in stakes for the meeting was £2,370. During the year tf very necessary improvement at the course was made in altering the steward’s stand. It was with much pleasure that the Club had to accord its thanlks to Mrs. Austin for her generosity in presenting a very handsome cup for competition at the last meeting. The Koxlon United Sports Association very kindly donated to the Club a mowing machine. This donation was gratefully acknowledged. The Club bus been allotted Wednesday and Thursday, 14tli and 15th January, for its next meeting. The buildings and course have been kept in the usual good state of repair.
Nominations have been received for Ibe following positions: — President: Mr. W. E. Barber; vicepresidents: Messrs R. Bryant, W. T. Jewell, IT. Coley, and C. E. Robinson; stewards: Messrs D. R. Ogilvy, S. R. Austin, H. Robinson. As there are no further nominations an eleclion will not. lie necessary. It is with very deep regret that the Club has (o record the death of Mr. Francis Robinson, who for many rears was patron of the Club. NOTICES OF MOTION.
The following notices of motion will be moved:—
(1) By the President : That rule 14, page 4, after the word “subscription” mi the 7th line be altered to read, “the annual subscription shall he £1 1/-, together with an entrance fee of £1 1/- in the case of new members.”
(2) ®y Mr. D. R. Ogilvy: That Messrs H. iC'oley and G. Hughes be elected life members of the Foxton Racing Club, Inc. STATEMENT OF RECEIPTS AND EXPENDITURE.
The statement of receipts and expenditure for the year ending 30th June, 1930, shows receipts totalling £4607 19/1 which were made up as follows: —'Bank Balance June 30th, 1929, £6B 14/5; subscriptions (members), £ll6 11/-; nominations, entries and acceptances, £496 4/-. Pri vil oges:— G a tes, £578 11/6; booths, etc., £.197 15/-; Race cards, £1.65 10/-; Totalisator, £2390 2/6; training fees, £l4 10/-. hire of loose boxes, £3l 12/6; rent of cottage, £4B; rent of office, £92 11/6; fines, £3; sale copper, 10/-; donations, £27 4/-; Bank Balance June 30th, 1930, £378 13/8.
•Expenditure was as follows: Slakes, £2,370; salaries, £231; wages, £lB7 8/-: attendants at meeting, £142 3/-; improvements, £438 12/9; maintenance and repairs, £3B 6/10; advertising and printiny, £169 9/6; Government Taxes (£1966 9/7, less recovered from dividends and owners, £.1282 7/-, less refund Taxation £250), £434 2/7; rents, £11; rates, £lO5 16/7; insurance, £57 5/5; Interest, £57 13/11; N.JS. Racing Conference Loyv, £52 0/1; Wanganui District Committee Levy, £l7 8/0; general expenses, £231 19/5; plant, £4O 12/6; outstanding A/e., £23.
