CREMATION OF SIR MAUI POMARE.
IIORRI FIBS TARANAKI MAORIS. New Plymouth, Last Night. News of the cremation of the remains of Sir Maui Pomare lias sent wave of horror through the Ala oris of North Taranaki who, for some days, have been making arrangements for a huge tangi when the body svas brought to New Zealand and buried in his birthplace, north of Waitarn. A leading 'Maori stales that the whole of his-racc is pained to an indescribable extent over the cremation tints violating a sacred Maori tradition.
