FOXTON SURF CLUB
GENERAL MEETING. A general meeting of the Foxton Surf Club was held in Fairev’s rooms last night presided over by Mr, M. E. Perreau (President). Also present were Messrs S. Austin, L. King, ,). Easton, E. Morgan, J. Francis, G. Shaw, J. Barrett, M. Baird, W. Melton and the secretary (Air. W. Alsop). It was decided to forward the Basket Ball Club a letter of thanks for the donation of £2. Air. Reay’s resignation as vicecaptain was accepted with regret, but Afr. Reny intimated that he would still continue as a member of the Club. Accounts amounting to £ll 11/11 were passed for payment. The secretary reported that as a result, of the series of euchre tournaments held by the Club, £2B had been raised. It was decided to forward a letter of thanks to N. Wishart for his past services to the Club. Air. Schwartz, of Palmerston N„ was elected a member. Mr. G. Shaw was elected captain of the Club vice A[r. Burns, who left the district, and Air. L. King was elected vice-captain vice Mr. Reay. It was decided to hold the Surf Club Ball on the 24th of this month. It was decided to discontinue the euchre tournaments for the time being. At the conclusion of the meeting Air. S. Austin entertained members to supper. A practice of members will be held in the practice slied on Thursday evening.
