The Governor-General and Ladv niedisliie arrived in Wanganui on Tuesday in coni imiatioii of their •Norili Island lour. In the evening a civic reception was accorded their Excellencies at I lie Opera House. Yesterday they were accorded a Maori gathering on the famous Moutoa gardens, where (he Treaty of Waitongi was signed. The guests were presented with Maori mats and a characteristic Maori welcome was accorded them.
