* —♦— BIT!Till)AY PARTY. The birthday party in connection with All Sainls' Children's Home, at till 1 local seaside, was held on Sathrdny afternoon in glorious weather. The guests were cordially welcomed by (’anon Woodward and the Alainon, Alls Bain. Quite a number of Palmerston X. residents motored down, including' members of the Board of Alanageueul, and there was a retiresenlativi gathering of T'oxton folk, including the Afinislers of the Presbyterian and Methodist Churches. It "anon and Mrs Woodward warmly greeted many old parishioners ami Foxlon friends Pongratnlalory speeches were made by Ibe AJavor (Mr Al. E. Perreau). and Messrs .1. K. Horiiblow, 0. Alonrad, Revs. \Y. H. Xielndas and Tapp and ATrs 1. .Abraham. The speakers paid well deserved tributes to tlie work of ilu' Aiatron and referred tu the healthy and happy children. Canon Woodward staled that the Irn.slees and ladies’ management eommillee had decided lo ereet a new lionie in Pascal SI., Palmerston X.. on a site presented hv Air fl. Akers. The new building would cost approximately £4,50(1 and would ai i-ominoda le 38 children. About £2,(109 would he required to complete the building and he made an appeal to Eoxton friemls in this ei in nee I ion.

Home, we Mi on Id prefer lo *ee n wing added lo the Beach Home.” Airs Abraham also mentioned that there was a wailing list but at present insuffieien! accommodation. Airs Abraham also mentioned lh;it site had received .grateful recognition from relatives of some of the inmates, concerning the careful training and care which obtained in the Home, which reflected the greatest credit upon the devotion of the Matron, “who,” she concluded, "was the light woman in the right place."
