EIGHTY-FI FT 11 ANN I VERSA HY.

To-morrow tin* local Presbyterian Church will commence a series of services to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the late Rev. .las. Duncan’s arrival in Foxton and the commencement of his spiritual activities in this district.

To-morrow's services will be conducted, both morning; and evening by the Rev. Q. K. Aitkcn, of Christchurch. Mr. Aitkcn succeeded the Rev. das. Duncan as the second ordained minister to the charge 'which then extended from Foxton to 'Carnarvon, Tiakitahunu, (Hen Oroun and Rangiolu. While resilient in Foxton Mr. Ait'ken took a very active part in all matters connected with the social and civic welfare of the community during his residence here and probably old friends will be pleased of the opportunity of again hearing and meeting him personally.

At the evening service solos will be rendered by Miss Doris Morgan (of Palmerston North) an ex-choir member and Mr. D. R. Barron. The choir will also render an anthem.
