ALLEGED SHEEP STEALING.
YOLNG BARM Jilt CHARGED. Dunedin, Last .Night. Gilbert William Lewis, a young farmer at Springvale, near Alexandra, was arrested on Thursday evening and charged at Alexandra this morning before Justices with the theft of 20 sheep at Springvale on March 10, the property of Edward J. lies, of Chatto Creek. Accused was remanded to appeal' before the Magistrate at Alexandra on April 10, bail being granled in accused’s own recognisance of £SOO and two sureties of £250 each.
