PERSONAL.
Rev. (i. K. Aitken, of Christchurch, arrived in Foxton this morning. Airs. Russell, oi Gisborne, is at present on a visit to her daughter, Mrs. H. E. Garbett, of Purcell St. Captain L. Hayes, M.C., of the Marine Department, returned to Wellington to-day.
-Aliss K. Desmond, of Wellington, is on a holiday visit to her brother, Mr. E. Desmond.
Captain Rodgers who acted as relieving- pilot during Captain Larsen’s absence on sick leave, has returned to AVellington.
There is very little improvement reported in the condition of George Lanih, the lad injured at the Oroua Downs sports meeting- last Wednesday. He is still seriously ill. The friends of Mrs. V. Betty will regret to learn that she was compelled to enter the Palmerston N. Hospital last AA'ednesday to undergo an operation.
Air. and Airs. D. Ball left for Wellington this morning to connect with the Melbourne boat. They expect to be in Australia on holiday tor six weeks.
