Mi', and Mrs. I. Ross are at present visiting Mr. and Mrs. John Ross, of Tliynne Street. Captain and Mrs. Haneox have taken up their residence in Lady’s Mile.
The friends of Mrs. F. Procter, who is an inmate of the Palmerston North Hospital, will he pleased to h*arn that she is making good progress towards recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm, who have l.een spending a holiday at the local seaside have returned to Eketahuna.
Staff Captain Hayes of the Salvation Army, was a visitor to Foxton on Sunday in connection with the local Corps harvest thanksgiving services.
Miss C. Buchanan will act as relieving teacher at the local District High School in Mr. 0. Doel’s place pending a permanent appointment. Miss Buchanan will commence her duties next Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Hewett left Foxtail by car yesterday on a holiday to lie spent in the Taranaki district. During Mr. Hewett’s absence Mr. 11. C. Gregory, of Palmerston North, will act as relieving idli'ccr at the local branch of the Commercial Bank.
A painful accident hefel Mrs. Craig, of Robinson Street, last week. She was spending a holiday ai the seaside with some childien in a ramp in the Sanatorium. In the early hours of the morning the party was disturbed by a noise at the rear of the tent and Mrs. Craig got up and proceeded to investigate. The tent was pitched under some macrocarpa trees and im walking around the side in the nark she ran into an overhanging limb, portion of which caught her in the eye, indicting a jagged cut and damaging the pupil.
