"There were not a few surprises in the results ol' tile championship events,” says the Evening Post in commenting on the Wellington Amateur Athletic Centre’s meeting last Saturday. Five of last year’s champions who were on hand again lost their titles, amongst whom was Miss M. Barron, of Foxton. Last yyar Miss Barron won the 100yds. ladies’ championship event in 12 ■sec., but this year failed to qualify for the final. The race was won by Miss N. Wilson. Time 12see.
