FOXTON FOOTBALL CLUB

COMMITTEE MEETING

A committee meeting of the Eoxton Football Club was held in Walls rooms last ('veiling when there were present Messrs F. Robinson (president), A. and B. Walls, W. 'Neville, L. McCarthy, ]). Christie, W. Broad, .J. Newton, C. Procter and the secretary (Mr. K. Hirini). Mr. Robinson thanked members for electing him president and expressed the hope that he would have tlu* eo-opreation of all during tlie coming season.

The election of coaches was proceeded with and resulted as follows: —Seniors: Mr. F. Robinson; juniors: Air. H. Reid;- thirds, Air. U'. Andresen. After some discussion it was decided not to retain the use of the practice shed but to consider a proposal for tilt' lighting of Easton I'ark and the use of the Swimming Baths for dressing purposes. Mr. L. McCarthy was deputed to go into the question of Hood lighting the area and to report to "the next meeting of tlie committee.

The allocation of the Bradcoek medal was discussed and it was decided to award the medal to the besl all-round third grade player for the 1930 season.

It was reported that the employees of Messrs Ross, Rough and Co. were prepared to arrange a team to meet all comers in a benefit match in aid of the club’s funds. P was decided to hold the match on Easton Park on March 22nd and Messrs R. Robinson and C. Procter v. ere elected as selectors to pick a team representative of the list of the town. It was also decided to hold a -hop day on the same date and a dance in the .Masonic Hall in the evening, tlie proceeds of both of wheli efforts will l>c donated to the Cluh. The state of Easton Park was discussed and it was decided to immediately proceed with the turfing of the cricket pitch and track across the park. A working bee will lx* held on Saturday afternoon lor the purpose of carrying out this work. It was decided that in future the committee meet on every Atoinlay evening.
