FATAL FALL FROM TRAIN

A fatality occurred near Paekaknriki on Thursday when Morris Howell, aged 14, of 20 Reuben Avenue, Brooklyn, fell from a railway carriage of a train bound for Levin, sustaining injuries from which lie died shortly afterwards. Deceased was one of |a large party travelling by train to Levin to attend the Mission Boys’ Gamp organised by the Rev. T. Fieldcn Taylor. When the train was nearing Paekakariki, deceased in some way fell from the carriage. The fall was noticed, and the train was promptly stopped, Howell being placed on boaJrd and taken to Paeknkariki, where he was attended to by fhe district nurse. A doctor was summoned, but on arijiVajl could only pronounce life extinct. An inquest will be held.
