FOXTON AMATEUR SWIMMING CLUB.

ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report of the Foxton Amateur Swimming Club to be submitted at the 'annual meeting is as follows “In presenting the annual report and balance sheet of the Foxton Swimming Club I regret that the past season has not been so successful as the previous one owing to lack of support from swimmers and the interest of the. general public so far as donations 'were concerned. 'The Carnival held during the season was successful from a financial point of view, mainly owing to the splendid support received from Feilding and Palmerston N. competitors, and close racing was the order of the evening. “One of our members, W. Harrison, was successful in winning the 220 yards Manawatu Centre Championship, while another member, G. Hirini, was successful in winning a number of events during the season just concluded. A promising member of the club amongst the junior swimmers is Miss M. Gay, and we trust this young lady will he even more successful this coming season.

“Wje regret that one of our members, W. Hirini, met with a serious accident which prevented him from taking part in racing after he had put tip some splendid performances. Wle trust he will again be in action this season.

“Wje would congratulate the school on the successful performances in connection /with the Triangular Shiehl contest and trust this is just the beginning of a new era as far as the Club is concerned. Since the baths opened in Foxton the majority of children have learned to swim, and quite a number are showing great promise. “Ouir thanks are due to any who assisted our Club during the season, to the auditor, Mr. D. Christie, and to the press for publicity given swimming affairs.” .
