Constable J. Ah Bell is at present confined to his bed Avitli a poisoned leg. •Miss D. Saunders, of Martinborough, is at present spending a holiday with Mrs. R. 0. Hornblow, of Foxton.
The Governor-General and Lady Alice Fergusson arrived in Invercargill yesterday morning on their third and faretvelLvisit. They are .remaining there for three days and to-day his Excellency Avill officially open the Royal Shotv. Both have a lengthy list of engagements. Yesterday afternoon, their Excellencies were accorded a most enthusiastic public reception at Queen’s park, whefe a suitable address was presented.
