' Versatility is Richard IDix’s middle name. At least it ought to be... For almost a year, lie has played in nothing except heavy and melodramatic roles. Now he makes an about-face and gives us an hilarious farce. The new picture is “Sporting Goods,” the new attraction at the Town Hall on Wednesday. It is sure to attract all of Dix’s regular fans, and, in addition, everybody in Foxton who enjoys a. couple of hours of almost continuous laughter. For this picture is funny. There are ' funny characterisations, and funny situations, and funny “gags," all performed by a capable cast and directed in sure-fire fashion by Alalcolun St. Clair. Dix is east in a typical “young American?’ role, that of a happy-go-lucky golf suit salesman, who gets into, tremendous (and comic) dijft'eullies when he allows a girl to think lie is a multi-millionaire. As the' girl was portrayed by Gertrude Olmsted, he is not to blame at all, incidentally- With Comedy, News and Cartoon, Usual prices.

Why girls leave home, what becomes of them, and the perils and pitfalls of modern flappers, is dramatically .shown in “The Port of Aliasing Girls,” at the Town Hall on Fridav.
