The friends of Air. of Russell Street, will be pleased to learn that he is about again after his illness.
Airs. J. Majrtin, of Whyte Street, who recently underwent a serious operation in a private hospital in Palmerston North returned home nil Sunday. On Saturday afternoon members of the Miranui Football Club indulged in an end of season celebration which took the form of a luncheon' presided over by Air. H. (Seifert, when- opportunity was taken to present Air. Tommy Watson Ihe popular secretary and coach of the Ouh, with a pair of ebony military hair brushes, in a. case. The presentation was made by Mr. J. Gillespie who made eulogistic reference to the energies and enthusiasm of Allr. Watson to whom the success of the Miranui team was undoubtedly due. Air. Watson suitably replied.
The death took place at Aslihurteiii on (Sunday, of the wife of the Rev. Frank McDonald, of Kaitangata, while on a visit to her son. The news of her death will come as a shock lo the deceased’s many Foxton friends. During the period that the Rev. Mr. McDonald was in charge of the. Foxton Presbyterian. parish, Airs. AfcDonald took, a keen interest in all branches of the church's activities and her sympathetic and kindly nature endeared her to all with whom she was acquainted. The cause of death was heart trouble. The sympathy of the Foxton public will go out to the bereaved husband in the irreparable, loss lie Iras sustained.
