— 4PRIVATE HOTEL DESTROYED

Wanganui, November 21.

For over two hours to-night the Wanganui fire brigade fought the flames when the Donbank private hotel, A\ 7 ith 54 bedrooms, was totally destroyed by fire. The proprietress, Mrs. Annie Leake, and all the hoarders and guests lost everything. The. origin of the fire is unknown, but the flames burst out of a first storey bedroom at eight o’clock. The insurances pi connection with the Donbank fire Averc: £SOOO on the building, in- the Guardian office; and £IBOO on the furniture in the Mercantile and General.
