LUNCH CLUB.
The usual monthly meeting of the Foxton Lunch iClub was held in Whyte’s Hotel to-day. 'The speaker was Mr. D. T. Allan, of the P. and T. Department, Palmerston North, wh otook for the subject of his address “Electrical Communication.” Rev. J. H. Edmondson was chairman and introduced the speaker. Also present were Messrs D. (Christie, A. E. 'Scott, J. .Newton, W.
Trueman, H. J. Reid, 'S. 11. Poole, W. E. Bullard, R. Sorbic, IF. Murray, O. Doel, W. H. Nicholas, R. Parkes, G. Smith, F. A. Mason, H. E. Gnrbett, and the secretary (Mr. 1. Corn). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs M. $•. P.erreau, IC. M. Hewett, 11. J. Thompson, and D. R. Ogilvy. Mr. Allan gave an interesting* insight into the development and mysteries of present day communication.
At the conclusion, of his address the speaker was accorded a vote of thanks on the motion of Rev. W. H. Nicholas and Mr. F. A. Mason.
