WEDDING

FERGUSON—HUGHES. A pretty wedding was .solemnised in the local Methodist Church on Tuesday when Inis Ellen, daughter of M{r. and Mrs. T. E. Hughes, of, Robinson Street, Foxton, was united to Frederick James, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. R: Ferguson, of ■ Pnwrire (North Auckland). The church was tastefully decorated by members of the choir of which the bride was a member. As the bridal party entered the church, the hymn “The Voice that Breathed O’er Eden” was sung. The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a dress of rose beige silk lace, veil of cream silk net and coronet of pearls and orange blossoms. The bridesmaids were Miss Myrtle Hughes (sister of the bride) and Miss Gwen Kelly (Wellington), attired in apple green crcpe-dc-cliine with • silver trimming's. Mr. Arthur Ferguson (brother), officiated as best man and Mr. Percy Benson (Woodville) as groomsman.' The officiating clergyman was the Rev. J. E. Parsons, of Palmerston North. The party left the church to the strains of the “Wedding March.” .Miss F. Martin, of Woodville (cousin of the bride) presided at the organ. The reception was held at Walls’ Ipa rooms when the usual toasts were honoured and felicitous speeches made. Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson will take up their residence in Ohakunc.
