NOTICE OF MOTION. Mr. Christie’s notice of motion to the effect that the perpetual trophy he awarded to the competitors obtaining the greatest number of points over both spring and summer shows was discussed at some length. Mr. Christie said he had been unable to attend the special meeting convened to discuss the purchase of a peirpetual trophy and while he agreed that such would he a good means of celebrating- the Society’s 21st anniversary, he did not altogether favour the trophy being awarded the exhibitor gaining the most points over one show. He thought that the trophy should go to the competitor gaining the most points over both spring and summer shows as indicated in his notice of motion. Some of the Iqcal growers were big exhibitors at one show and not at the other and his suggestion would even matters up and make, it fair to all.

The notice of motion was seconded bv Mr. Jas. Ross.

Mr. 11l Nve opposed the proposed alteration to the conditions governing the trophy on the grounds that if it was to he spread over both shows it would compel those competing to exhibit in .'both shows whereas they might be able only to exhibit with success at one show.

Rev. Walton spoke in support of the motion provided the conditions decided on in regard to competitors were unaltered. The notice of motion did not make any provision for conditions. After further discussion the notice of unction was carried, it being decided that the conditions set out in the first place obtain in regain! to the trophy. The question of,whether it would be advisable to have tea rooms at the show has not yet. been finalised.
