—: 4 —— ■ YOUNG PEOPLE’S SOCIAL.
A very enjoyable social, organised by the young ladies of the Presbyterian Church, was held in the schoolroom last evening, those present included representatives from other denominations. The Rca’. \V. 11. Nicholas presided. The programme included games, competitions, musical, vocal and elocutionary items and- a very happy time was spent. Those who contributed to the programme were Mrs. Doel, Misses Wilson, Stevenson, Messrs Couch and Prentice. The latter conljribuled two in,itchappreciated items on the accordeon. The accompaniments were played by Miss Patterson. The winners of the competitions were Mesdames McEwan, Yardlev, Miss McGee and Messrs Stevenson and Prentice. A tasty supper (apart from the flannel, sandwiches) was handed round by the young ladies. The Rev. W. H. Nicholas thanked all who had assisted in making the affair such a success and the proceedings concluded with the .singing of “Auld Lang Sync.”
