MISS McHARDIE FAREWELLED.
BY PUPILS AND EX-PUPILS AT
ROTORUA
Miss MeHardie, who some years ago was a member of the staff of the local .school and who, for the past eleven years, has been secondary mistress of the Rotorua District High School, is retiring from the teaching profession, in view of her approaching wedding. Miss MeHardie was farewelled by ex-pupils and pupils of the Rotorua District High School recently and made the recipient of tokens of es- , teem. Mr. Norman Smith, on behalf of the ex-pupils presented Miss MeHardie with a beautiful crystal set of glasses and decanter, silvermounted oak tray and a pyrex cooler on a silver stand. The pu-. pils presented Miss MeHardie with # an oxidised brass tray, fruit howl, tea pot and cigarette box. Her own form and staff presented her with a salad bowl and servers, a cup, saucer ,and plate and a cut glass vase. In addition she received many private gifts which . were ample plroof of affection and esteem.
In referring to the departure of Miss MeHardie, Mr. A. R, Ryder (headmaster) paid a tribute to her tireless work in all branches of school activities. They deeply regretted her departure, yet she carried with her their best wishes for success and happiness. Miss MeHardie feelingly acknowledged -the tokens of esteem and good wishes expressed. Miss McHaivdie will probably take uj) her residence, in Foxton at an early date.
