SCHOOL SHOP DAY

The shop day organised by the secondary department of the local District High School and held last Saturday proved a most decided success, the net proceeds of the effort being a little over twenty pounds. The headmaster and the assistants of the secondary department, Messrs Doel and Burdes, desire to express their sincere thanks to all who in various ways contributed to the success which has enabled them to have at their disposal a surnl of money to meet requirements in connection with the pports and social life of the school. Thanks are 'particularly due to Mesdames Doel and Burdes for their help in supervising the sale of goods. The winners of the various competitions were: Apron: Miss F. Walls; wood : Mrs. A. Read; duck: Mr. J. Barber; fowls: Mr. Alsop and Mjr. Newson tie.
