CLAIM FOR RENT.
At the local S.M. Court this morning before Mr. .J. L. 'Stout, S.M., James McKnight proceeded against Thomas Wanklyn for the recovery of £l3, rent due for a dwelling owned bv plaintiff and occupied by defendant. Mr. (Berg-in appeared for defendant who gave evidence as to the rent being outstanding. Defendant claimed that the. claim for the rent outstanding was not correct. There had been no convenience on the property and plaintiff had refused to put in water and drainage. The S.M.: Well, you didn’t have to stay theire. Plaintiff said he had offered to put in the water and drainage if defendant would pay up the rent. After examining defendant’s books counsel for plaintiff said they showed an amount of £9 10/outstanding.
