MURDER AND SUICIDE.
’SEQUEL TO LOVERS’ QUARREL. Sydney, May 28. A tragedy occurred to-d&y in a flat at Cremorne. Miss Rene Linton, aged 23, an actress, and her lover, Strachan Knight, aged 22, a laud salesman, were found shot dead, an automatic revolver lying beside Knight’s body. Knight’s not her states that the pair quarrelled during the week-end. Miss Linton called at Knight’s flat in response to Knight’s invitation today, and Knight ordered his mother to leave the room. The tragedy oceulrred iniimediately afterwards. Four bullet Avounds were found in A'liss Linton’s head and breast and one, only in Knight’s ■ cad. The .police are convinced that Knight shot Miss Linton and then •committed suicide. Strachan Knight, left a note saying Aliss Linton, had refused to marry hilm and he was determined one else should have hetr. Miss [Linton had appeared in theatrical companies which visited Ncav Zealand recently.
