George Bancroft portrays the role of a coal-heaving ship’s stoker in his ucav Paramount picture, “The Docks of NeAv Yank,” showing at the Town Hall on Wednesday. Bancroft has found his new role ideally suited to him, and his characterisation in this picture has Avon him loud acclaim. He is ahly supported in the picture by Betty Compson, Baclanova, Clyde Cook and Mitchell LeAvis. The film Avas directed by Josef von Sternberg, who directed the star in “Underworld” and “The Drag Net” which were shown here recently. Bancroft gives a virile, colorful characterisation. Also screening on Wednesday evening is the first chapter of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ lemarkable stqry “Tarzan The Mighty,” a film of adventure staged in the 'jungles with a. remarkable cast of both humans and wild animals. “Lay On Macduff,” and a ucavs reel complete a fine progra'mjme, Usual prices.
