GAS WORKS.
APRIL WORKING. The amount of gas manufactured during the month of April was 341,100 ft., which with amount in the holder on April Ist 17,000 ft. made a total of 358,100 ft. Dulring the month 288.500' ft. was used by consumers, 20,000 ft. at the works and ■there was 17,000 ft. in the holder on April 30th, making -a total of 325,500 ft. accounted for and leaving 32,600 ft. representing 9.1 per cent, unaccounted for. 'Thirty-one tons of coal were ’carbonised, yielding 10.003 cub. ft. of gas to the ton and producing 4 tons of coke. The receipts for the month totalled £2lO 15s Od and were made up as follows: —Gas sales (lighting) £23 13s 9d, heat and power £ll4 6s sd, coke sales £5 16s 6d, tar sales £59 12s Od, services and fittings £6 Is 4d, miscellaneous £1 5s Od. The expenditure for the month totalled £206 Ms 5d and was made up as follows: —-Coal £B6 9s Od, salaries and wages £SO 14s Od, engine oil 14/8, insurance £5 9s 6d, Interest and Sinking Fund £63 7s 3d. The gas manager reported that during the month five blocked services were cleaned out, one new service put in and one new gas stove installed. —Adopted.
