ANZAC DAY.

MEMORIAL SERVICES. On Thursday next, 25th inst., Anzac Day will be fittingly observed locally. The day will be observed as a close holiday. AT THE D.H. SCHOOL. The first assembly will be held at the District High School, at 10 a.m. when appropriate hymns will be sung, brief addresses delivered, school roll of'honour recited, the Hag saluted and the “Last Post” sounded. A cordial invitation to all returned soldiers, parents and public is extended by the committee to this memorial service. MEAIORLAL SERVICE AT TOWN HALL. A public memorial service will be held at Town Hall at 2.30 p.m. The following programme has been druAvn up: — At 2.10 p.m. —'Returned Soldiers, Navy ratings, Imperial and Air Forces, S.A. Veterans, Senior Cadets, Friendly Societies, Fire Brigade, Boy Scouts and Girl Guides will fall in at the Council Chambers and, headed by the Foxton Silver Band, will proceed to the Town Hall. The Brownies will provide a guard of honour. The folloAving order of service will be •observed,: National Anthem, address by the Aiayor; hymn, “O God our Help in Ages Past;” prayer, Rev. W. H. Nicholas; hymn, “Lead Kindly Light;” scripture reading, (Psalim 46 and Alatthew V —l-1G), Rev. J. H. Edmondson and Captain E. Alatheson; solo, AH'. G. F. Smith; address, Chaplain-Afajor W. H. Walton; hylmn, “O Valiant Hearts Benediction, Rev. W. H. Walton; v retiring collection. An adjournment will then be made to the Triangle Avhere wreaths will be laid at the foot of the Soldiers’ Memorial, the baud will play the “Garland of Flo Avers” and Sergt.-Bugler B. J. \V|ails will sound the “Last Post.” Returned Soldiers are notified that the dress will be mufti and that war decorations will be worn. Particulars in this connection are officially notified elsewhere in this issue.
