CARNIVAL NOTES.
In the Masonic Hall this evening a joy night for children will be held, when prizes will be offered for best t'anley dresses. This function will no doubt prove a great success. A shop day is being held in Main Street to-day by the Country Committee. A good supply of vegetables, and cookery were on sale, together with weight guessing competitions. The Sports Committee hold a euchre evening in the Town Hall supper-roojm this evening.' Six prijzes and good suipper. The fixtures for .Saturday will be found advertised in the carnival space. The . results of the Country .Committee’s shop day competitions last Saturday were as follows: —.Chocolates, Mr. P. Lajmpp; dinner, Mr. T. shirt, Mr. J. Golder; goose, Mr. R, H. Pratt. The inclement weather experienced yesterday afternoon and evening interfered considerably with the function arranged by the Sports Queen Committee held at the residence of Air. and Mrs. J. K. Hornblow. However, those Who did attend had an enjoyable time, and in consequence the funds will be materially swelled.
