Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Barr have returned from a brief visit to Napier.
Mi’s. W. E. Bullard returned from Christchurch on Tuesday evening where she had Sheen on a visit to her daughter.
Mr. and Mrs. L. (Bullard have returned to Foxton after spending a holiday in Christchurch. Mr. Bullard resumed duty yesterday. The friends of Mr Darcy Ball will regret to learn that he is at present confined to his home with indisposition. After an interesting career of over 43 years in the Public Service, Mr. F. S. Pope, Assistant DirectorGeneral of the Department of Agriculture, will retire on March 31. Mr. John Underhill, Secretary for the Associated Racing Clubs of New South Wales, Australia, was a visitor to Foxton on Tuesday to look up an old friend of Ms, Mr. W, Kirkland. The following resignations were accepted at last night’s meeting of the Wanganui Education Board: — R. G. Hutton, head teacher at Ashhurst; L. T. Thomas, sole teacher at Awahou South; 11. F. Gabites, assistant at Central, Palmerston N.; A. M. T. Willialms, assistant at Foxton ; 11. Hunter, assistant at Greatford.
At last night’s meeting of the Wanganui Education Board Mr. N. T. Lambourne, chief schools inspector for the past three years, Was presented Iby the chairman with a set of pipes from the members of the board and staff. He wished Mr. Lambourne all ( success in his new position in Wellington and at the same tiinie welcomed Mr. Crosbie, of Auckland, who has joined the Wfanganui .inspectorate and congratulated Mr. J. Crawford on his promotion to be chief inspector for the district.
