Constable H. Huntley, of Napier, is on a holiday visit to his brother, Mr. G. Huntley. Mr. and Mrs. H. Parker (nee Miss K. Berthold) of Wellington, paid a brief visit to Foxton to-day. Mrs. Hobbs, of Rongotea, accompanied by her two daughters, Misses D. and V. Hobbs are at present on holiday at the Foxton Beach. ,
The death occurred at Poroutawliao on Tuesday .of Ohvien Grace, the 12-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Easton.
Mr. J. A. Smith, Engineer of the Horowhenua Power Board, is at present in Christchurch for the purpose of attending the conference of power board engineers.
The death occurred at Palmerston North yesterday of the wife of Mr. W. Hebden, aged 37 years. Deceased was the daughter of the late Mr. W. H. Collingwood, for many years Town .Clerk of Palmerston North.
The death occurred on Tuesday of Mr. Thomas Ballinger, an old and well-known resident of Wellington, at the age of 77 years. The late Mr. Ballinger was the founder of the well-known firm of Thomas Ballinger and Company, Limited, and during his long association with the city he took a keen interest in local affairs and in sport.
Mr. N. T. Lambourne, senior inspector of schools under the Wianganui Education Board, has been appointed to a position in the head office of the Education department and leaves for Wellington at Easter. Mr. Lambourne entered the service of the Auckland board in 1892 and was headmaster at Whakapirau, Mangere Bridge and Napier street schools. He was appointed inspector in 1912 and -was vice-principal of the Auckland Training College in 1920-21. In 1926, Mr. Lambourne -was appointed senior inspector in Wlanganui. He graduated as an M.A. at Auckland University in 1910.
