COOK STRAIT SWIM

' ATTEMPT THIS WEEK. Christchurch, January 28. Miss .Lily Copplestone will travel overland from Ashburton to Picton on Tuesday or Wednesday next and will await there a favourable opportunity to set out on her swim across Cook iStrait. Mr. W. Thomas, of Te Awaiti, of a well-known whaling family, will accompany Miss C'opplestone in a dinghy and will '.be her chief adviser. Miss Copplestone will probably try out a number of starting points and will be guided bv Mr. Thomas in her ultimate choice.
