HOSPITAL PRAISED.

“A FINE INSTITUTION.” HEALTH VISIT. “The Palmerston North Hospital is a very line institution, and I am delighted at its character,” commented Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, Minister Of Health, to a “Standard” reporter. “It is well designed, efficiently run, and the administration is very satisfactory, reflecting great credit on the board,” lie added. “The maternity ward deserves spe - cial comment. It is giving a very desirable lead to certain other parts of New Zealand where hospital boards have not yet assumed that important responsibility.” Amplifying remarks made to the Board members on the general aspects of financial administration, Mr. Stallworthy stated that it was an involved question and, so far as the incidence of hospital taxation was concerned there was no reason to be alarmed at present figures, as conditions 'would later adjust themselves. It was not the fault of the hospital system, though the remark did not imply the assertion that it was not capable of improvement. It was freely admitted that the New Zealand hospital administration was exemplary.
