FOXTON RACING CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the local Racing Club will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, of next week. The dates for this popular meeting have been put forward for the first time this year to avoid clashing with the Wellington meeting and to attract bigger fields. There was a doubt in the minds of some as to the wisdom of cutting out the holiday date as it might affect the attendance, but on the other hand it. was pointed out that larger fields would be attracted, which would add to the popularity of the meeting. The nominations are distinctly encouraging and the acceptances will probalbly constitute record fields for the club. The course and appointments are all that can be desired to satisfy both owner and public and it only requires fine weather to make the meeting a complete success.
