ALLEN’S SUICIDE. VERDICT OF MENTALLY UNBALANCED. Wanganui, This Day. The inquest concerning the death of George Allen, the central figure in last Wednesday’s sensational tragedy, who shot himself at the end of a five hours’ siege, after assaulting and injuring Mrs. D. Withcy, was held to-day. The Coroner’s verdict was that the deceased met his death by a gunshot wound self-inflicted, his mind being seriously unhinged at Hie time. The Coroner added that the police methods were intelligent and proper.
