COURT RETURNS.

The Court returns for the quarter ended December 30th, 1928, show that there were three sittings presided over by a Stipendiary Magistrate and six presided over 'by local Justices of the Peace. During the quarter the number of plaints entered Avas 25 and the total amount sued for Avas £B9 0s 6d. The number of criminal cases dealt with during the term Avas as follows: — Against males, 20; against females, 1; a total of 21. Fees collected and fines imposed during the quarter amounted to £52 15s 6d.
