CHILDREN’S PARTY.
RETURNED SOLDIERS’ FUNCTION.
A happy throng of nearly two hundred children attended at the Town Hall on Saturday last to meet Father Christinas, the occasion being the annual entertainment arranged by the local committee for the children of Returned Soldiers. The excitement was intense when Father ’Xmas came down the chimney, and was greeted by His Worship the Mayor on behalf of all those present. Every child received a gift and then afternoon tea was dispensed by the energetic ladies’ committee, followed by a picture. The whole entertainment was thoroughly enjoyed by the kiddies and.the “grown-ups,” and reflects great credit on the “Diggers.”
