MANAWATU RACING CLUB MEETING. Unfavourable weather was experienced yester.day for the opening day of the Manawatu Racing Club’s Christmas meeting. The attendance was very large, but the totalisator receipts were below that of last year, the takings yesterday being £43,999 as against £54,647 for the first, day of the holiday fixture last year.
