COMMITTEE AND TEACHERS FOREGATHER.
f . After the conclusion of the D.H. School concert on Tuesday night, the teaching staff and committee, with their wives, foregathered at Walls’ rooms, where supper was partaken of. The chairman of the committee (Mr. Hornblow) took occasion to thank the staff and pupils (which had been omitted at the entertainment) for the excellent concert submitted,” the funds from which, plus the subsidy would en- . able the committee to provide cer- . tain improvements in the, playing area. Mention was made of: the . excellent results obtained during the year in all departments of the school. Regret was expressed at the departure of Miss Holst and-C good wishes extended to her. Short felicitous speeches were made by - the headmaster (Mr. Mason) and Messrs Warwick,. Chipper, JD. Christie, and Misses Williams and Holst, and the season’s greetings exchanged. The happy gathering concluded with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
