BRIDE FLYS ’PLANE ACROSS STRAIT. Blenheim, December 17. In the course of their honeymoon trip Captain M. Buckley and Mrs. Buckley arrived at Blenheim from Feilding yesterday afternoon in an Avro-Avian machine lent by Captain K. Hall, of Hororata. Flying conditions were perfect. After leaving Feilding Captain Buckley handed over the 'controls to his bride, who flew the machine all the way to Blenheim, thus achieving the distinction of being the first woman to pilot an aeroplane across Cook Strait. The young couple were warmly welcomed in Blenheim and took off for Christchurch amid showers of confetti
