FOXTON BEACH IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE.
ANNUAL REPORT. The following is the annual report, to be submitted to the annual meeting:— “Your committee again present their report and statement of accounts for the year ending 30th November, 1928. We started the year with a balance in hand of £2l 11/-. The income for the year was as follows: —Rent of hall for school, £34 10/-; receipts sports and collections, £44 4/-; receipts from hall, £24 19/-; receipts tennis courts, £6 14/-; making a total of £llO 7/-. “During the year the tennis courts were completed at a cost of £157 2/3. As this work exceeded the amount available, a loan was arranged for £4O to clear all liabilities. Mr. T. Hocking, the contractor for the tennis courts, made a donation off his account of £5 7/3 to the committee. “The Foxton Harbour Board paid over to the committee the £2O promised toward the cost of removing and re-erecting the bathing sheds, which had been paid out by the committee. “The credit balance in bank on November 30th was £3l 1/11. Of this amount £l3 4/- was specially collected for the purpose of completing the lining of the Beach Hall. This work we recommend be completed before the winter sets in. “Your committee went into the question if forming a Town Board and full enquiries were made from reliable sources, and we find that the number of residents are insufficient for the purpose. “Hearty thanks are due to Captain Larsen and all beach residents and willing helpers for their assistance during the year. “The annual meeting will be held at the Beach Hall on Friday, December 28th atJ3 p.m. when all residents and section holders are specially requested to attend.”
