BUTTERFAT.
CHRISTMAS CHEQUES. Thousands of pounds will be disbursed to the farmers of the Manawatu and Horowhenua districts next Thursday (December 20th). The average payout by ‘butter companies will be 1/5 pea' lb., and 1/7 by cheese companies. Details are as follows: (Cheltenham, £36,300 (1/5, butter). Kairanga, £11,500 (1/5, butter, 1/7, cheese). Awahuri £16,000 (1/5, butter). Mangawhata £3BOO (1/9, cheese). Makowhai £2300 (1/7, cheese). Tokomaru £1938 (1/7, cheese). Rangiotu £1328 (1/7; cheese). Levin, £23,000 (1/5, butter). The increase in output that was experienced earlier in the season was apparent last month as well. The recent copious fall of rain will go a long way towards keeping up the supply, but it is generally recognised that the peak has been reached. Succeeding months, however, should see increased production over the same months of last year.
