FLOOD CONTROL.
WILL the change of Government facilitate the carrying out of the Manawatu-Oroua Rivers Board scheme for dealing with the flood waters of the Manawatu? The Board is not losing any time in assembling a conference of local body delegates to discuss the position and will probably deputationise the new administration. It goes without'saying that unless the Government is prepared to assist the scheme it will never be consummated, as the land throughout the area affected could not stand the burden of cost. The Board is well-advised in “getting in” early.
