THE KING’S ILLNESS

A SLIGHT IMPROVEMENT. A serious turn for the worse was reported in the condition of the King over the week end but the latest reports are a little more hopeful. London, Dee. 3. A small quantity of oxygen was administered to the King during the night. Palace officials state that this is not to be regarded as an alarming feature, such administrations in similar cases being a common practice. The latest bulletin issued at 10.30 a.m. said the King had had three hours’ quieter sleep since the last bulletin. His temperature was now 99.8, and there was a slight improvement in his general condition. The bulletin was signed by Sir Stanley Hewett and Lord Dawson. Special prayers were offered up for. the King throughout England on Sunday.
