HOLIDAY ROADS.

The Wellington Automobile Club, in conjunction with the Aard Motor Service, have issued the following report on the state of roads between Wellington and Auckland : Main Trunk. —W ellington to Shannon to Palmerston North (100 miles): Good. Wellington to Foxton: Impassable, covered with water. Foxton to Bulls: Good. Bulls to Taihape (59 miles): Hilly, bad bends, good surface. Taihape to Ohakune (40 miles): Doubtful in bad weather, chains required. Impassable after heavy rain between Tangiwai and Karioi, badly cut up. Waiouru to Tokdanu (42 miles): Good summer road, unmetalled; take chains. Bulls to Wanganui: Good. Wanganui to Ohakune: (80 miles) : Bad condition, road uninetalled in parts. Impassable between Kakatabu and Raetihi during winter months and bad weather. Ohakune to Taumarunui (63 miles): In bad condition, possible to get through. Taumarunui to Te Kuiti (65 miles): Not advisable .for tourist- traffic; practically impassable. Te Kuiti to Hamilton (52 miles), Hamilton to Pokeno (47 miles): Good. Pokeno to Waihi (66 miles) : Good. Pokeno to Auckland*! (Rangiriri: Watch for loose screenings). Via Taranaki. —Wanganui to /New Plymouth: Good. New Plymouth to Te Kuiti (110 miles): Good. Section between Mahoenui J and Pio Pio (20 miles]: has patches of loose metal. East Coast and Taupo. —Wellington to Masterton to Napier: Good. Deviation at-Mount Bruce is rough, 3 but not difficult to negotiate. Matahiwi deviation, between Woodville and Dannevirke and Napier side of Dannevirke, are open for light traffic only. Bowen road in fair order. Palmerston North to Wioodville: Excellent. Napier to Wairoa (80 miles) : In fair condition. Wairoa to Gisborne (56 miles) : Rough in places. Napier to Taupo (100 miles): Good. Taupo to Waimarino (76 miles): Fair condition. Taupo to Rotorua to Whakatane (112 miles): Very good. Whakatane to Gisborne (142 'miles): Good to Motu. Motu to Gisborne unmetalled for some miles. Cars can get through if fine. In bad weather, advisable to train car from Motuhora to Puha. Taupo to Atiamuri to Hamilton (100 miles): Good. Rotorua to Tirau: Passable in fine weather. Tirau to Hamilton: Good. Whakatane to Tauranga to Waihi: No report. Rotorua to Tauranga (56 miles): Good.
