LEVIN RACES.
Ideal weather prevailed for the Levin Racing Club’s annual fixture last Saturday. There was a large crowd present, but the totalisator handled only £16,266, against £19,112 last year. Mr. J. Linklater, M.P., presented the cup trophy in the absence of the donor, to W. D. Moronev. The results are as follows: Mauakau Hack Hurdles: —'Sunart 1, Stai’shell 2, Panorama 3. Won by three lengths. Time 2.45. Weraroa Hack: —Elysianor 1, -*• Kink Quex 2, Shining Star 3. Won by three-quarters of a length. Time 1.28. Maiden Race:—Thrift 1, Topere 2, Skyrider 3. Won by half a length. Time 1.14 3-5. Mako Mako Hack: —Argue 1, The Dove 2, Patearoa 3. Won by half a length. Time 1.13 2-5. Levin Cup:—Talisker 1, Teri 2, Imperial Spark 3. Won by two lengths. Time 2.5 4-5. Lake Hack Handicap:—Tanagra 1, Bissae 2, Kalos 3. Won by half & a length. Time 1.55. McDonald Memorial Handicap:— Moutoa Treasury 1, Ridgemount 2, Callanmore 3. Won by a head. Time 1.12 3-5. Hokio Hack Handicap:—Veronese 1, Backier 2, Flying Binge 3. Won by five lengths. Time lmin.
