THE HEMP MARKET.
The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 17th instant, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— Hemp.—Manila market dull and easier under bear influence. “J” grade quoted for Deeeraber-Febru-ary and January-March shipment at the close £34/10/- buyers. Sisal: Market quiet but firmer at the close. Tanganyika No. 1, best marks, for October-Deeember shipment, sold £3B/15/- to £39; No. 2 quoted £37 sellers. NeAV Zealand market quieter and buyers less interested. Closing values for Nov ember-January shipment are: High points £33/10/-; fair £3O 10/-; common £2B 10/-. Toav: somewhat better demand. No. 2 sold £2O 10/-; No. 3 £lB.
