At Invercargill yesterday Southland defeated the New South Wales touring side by 31 points to 26, after a very interesting game.
At Timaru yesterday, Wellington defeated South Canterbury by 28 points to 17. At Greymouth yesterday, the All Blacks defeated a combined West Coast-Buller team by 40 points to 3.
Manawhenua will meet Wairarapa at Masterton on Saturday in an endeavour to lift the Ranfurly Shield. Tire Manawhenua team will be selected from the following:— Backs: Wasley, Strange, Taylor, Roberts, Stevenson, T. Parata, Akuira, Robb, W. Parata; forwards: Summers, Crawford, Moodie, Conrad, Galpin, Tatana, Gleeson, Parsons, Satherley, Ward and Dalzell.
